1st week at school

it's been a while since i checked in here so brace yourself for a big entry hehe (or jeje i should say!) i'm all moved into my piso (apartment) which has a pool! i live with a girl from cordoba who's 21 and studying at the school a teach at. she's really nice and we're already planning a trip to granada so i can show her around! anyways....

this week was my first week at IES Bembezar which is the instituto or high school in my town. i have to say it went better than expected. i had 3 hours of english classes with my tutora (mentor) ana with kids ranging from 11-14 years old. the lower levels did not seem as excited or interested as the last class where i was asked everything from do i have a boyfriend to where do i live. and to top it off i was told i look like avril lavigne :/ you know it's bad when that isn't the first time you've been told that! i basically just introduced myself and met the classes. tomorrow i'll be in a social studies class and PE classes which should be interesting. i hope i don't have to run with them! haha also tomorrow i have my first tutoring gig with two kids (9 and 7 years old) so i hope that goes well! also, my teacher offered me an additional conversation workshop in english for 8 hours a month where i can earn some extra cash for traveling. :)

also, last night me and my roommate from cordoba went out for the first time in azuaga with her friends from school. we "botelloned" (yes, i'm making it a verb) or "pre-partied" at her friend's apartment and then went to i'm guessing the only happening spot in azuaga, pub metal where i proceeded to see familiar faces from school and around. gotta love small towns! i also had no idea the spaniards were so into reggaeton....when did this happen?!? but i'm not complaining!

this weekend some girls from the program and i are going to sevilla. hopefully going to a flamenco show and maybe taking a bike tour around the city. i've been several times before but i love it! sevilla is so pretty and truly has the spanish culture and alma. ole! hasta la proxima!
